Snickerdoodle BARS! (something simple for a change…..)

IMG_5068

My Daughter in law, Laurie, sent me a recipe for Snickerdoodle bars.  I am CRAZY about Snickerdoodles, but I hate making them, because you have to take time to roll the balls, dip them in cinnamon sugar, and I never get the ratio right–so I have some left over.  This solves all that!  I decided to try using the mix seen above, to simplify it even further.  So, with just a couple of minor changes, I did it!  Here’s the method:

Mix cookies as directed on box, adding one extra Tbs. of water.  In a greased 8×8 pan, spread the dough.  Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar bag which is included all over the top.  Use it all!  Now bake at 350 degrees for about 18-20 minutes.  (the size of the pan dictates the timing.  A larger pan will yield thinner bars, thus you would do 15-17 minutes.

These are SO hard to avoid……ask me how I know…..

  1. These look so easy—love not having to roll them out! Plus with the big surface area the calories float out while baking, yes?
