If the mushrooms are too big, cut them in half for easier plating (and tasting!)

I’m in a hurry.  So I’m going to make this great appetizer that takes all day……whaaaaat???

This is great because you can put everything in a crockpot and leave it all day.  So about 5 minutes of effort for a fantastic appetizer…..or, with a little extra you could toss it with pasta (slice the mushrooms…..)

In a crockpot, put 1 lb mushrooms (cut in half if very large)

12 meatballs (buy them prepared or make your own). see instagram for picture

1 jar prepared Pasta sauce (or your own)

We like Barilla–and pretty much any others.  Our family did a taste test of 12 jarred sauces last Mother’s Day, and there were many favorites:  Even Ragu!  The general favorite was Trader Joe’s Marinara…..you decide!

Love my Insta-pot!  I can do pressure cooking OR slow cooking!  And they are cheap.  Walmart, Target…

Put mushrooms, meatballs and sauce in slow cooker.  Rinse out the jar with about 1/2 cup water and add it to the mix.  Cook on high 4 hours, or low all day.  The last hour, add some cheese.

the last hour, add some mozzarella or shredded cheese.  (optional).  It will melt all over and make serving GOOEY.  But nobody’s gonna complain.  Ask me how I know…

My apologies for not having the finished product pictured yet.  It’s in the crockpot and I’ll take a pic tonight when I serve it.  So if you want to see it, check my blog tomorrow!
