Debra brought this to our weekly Bachelorette Party last night. Since we are so close to Thanksgiving, I NEED to blog this ASAP. If you are a lover of Thanksgiving flavors, you will love this. My hubby likes pecan pie the best, and I like Pumpkin–not that I’d turn either one down. But this is seriously spectacular. Debra says its an old Southern Living recipe. There has never been a bad recipe out of those books!
INGREDIENTS
1 15oz. can pumpkin
1 cup Evaporated Milk
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 yellow cake mix (butter flavored if possible)
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup melted butter
Whipped cream. nutmeg
stir together first 5 ingredients. pour into 13×9 baking dish. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over pumpkin mixture. Sprinkle with pecans, drizzle butter over evenly. Bake at 350 about one hour. cool and sprinkle with nutmeg if desired.
Serve with whipped cream. SO delish! Thanks Debra!
Do you sprinkle to dry cake mix over the top or do you make the batter and sprinkle over the top.?
