I don’t know why everybody doesn’t just make their own hot fudge. I takes less than 10 minutes, and if you are like me you usually have all the ingredients handy. (Im one of those old fashioned cooks who keeps evaporated milk handy just in case!) but if you don’t have it, milk or cream or 1/2 & 1/2 works too!
HOMEMADE HOT FUDGE
MIX together in a bowl or cup: 2 Tbs. cornstarch, 2 tbs. Hershey’s unsweetened cocoa, 1/3 cup sugar
1 stick melted butter
Add powdered ingredients to melted butter and stir till it’s a paste
Add 1 can evaporated milk, or 2 cups milk or cream
whisk for a couple of minutes till it bubbles and thickens Pour over ice cream or desserts
NOTE: In this blog there are Chocolate chunk cookies from Allison Roman. I Instagrammed about making these (minus the chocolate chunks) and dunking them as a dessert after a dinner party in the hot fudge. You may need to thin it down just a bit. THANKS TO MY FABULOUS GRANDDAUGHTER, MICHAEL, FOR THIS IDEA! What a great dessert!
Love having these show up in my inbox. Since I’m not as good a cook as you are, I don’t check recipes often. Now, I won’t miss any of your treasures. Thank you so much.
